Prof Jacques Joubert

Jacques Joubert is a professor of pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of the Western Cape and a medicinal chemist specializing in neuroprotective ion‑channel modulation, anti‑infective drug discovery and regulatory science. With over a decade of research and postgraduate supervision, he has authored numerous publications and leads grants across SAMRC, NRF and international funders. He co‑leads the MzansiMed AI‑driven medication instruction project, advancing equitable health communication in South Africa.
